Animation Production Days (APD) is a curated business platform for the German and international animation industry, which will take place for the twentieth time from 5 – 7 May 2026.

In exclusive one-to-one meetings, German and international producers from over 20 countries present and discuss their current projects, ranging from feature films and TV series to cross-media formats, including games and XR, with potential co-production partners as well as broadcasters, streamers, world sales agents, distributors, funding bodies, and investors.

At APD, around 180 participants negotiate cooperations for the selected projects in roughly 1,000 pre-planned one-to-one meetings every year. Up-and-coming producers can apply to participate in the Talent Programme which gives them the opportunity to present their project in a professional environment.

Another important part of the programme is the conference. Besides inspiring projects, innovative business models and market trends are presented. In addition, APD offers various networking events and roundtables with industry participants from the partner events ITFS and FMX.

The Animation Production Days’ event format as a co-production and financing market specialised in animation projects is unique in Germany. APD is a joint venture of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) and FMX – Film & Media Exchange.
