




The Hochschule der Medien (HdM) is a state university of applied sciences located in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.
The Bachelor’s program in Audiovisual Media offers diverse fields of study including computer animation, film and VFX, sound production, interactive media and games, as well as television productions and spatial experiences. The program combines creative design with technical expertise and enables students to develop audiovisual productions from the initial concept through technical realization to final presentation. Graduates complete their studies as creative media engineers, earning the academic degree of Bachelor of Engineering. The consecutive Master’s program “Audiovisual Media Creation and Technology” (M.Sc.) provides advanced specialization in innovative audiovisual technologies and research-oriented creative practices.
The field of games and interactive media at HdM is represented by the Institute for Games, which offers programs at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level and focuses on the conceptual and technological development of interactive applications.
The Visual Media Lab (VMLab) investigates various areas of visual competence, including new color spaces, High Dynamic Range, and Higher Frame Rates.
New technologies and algorithms in the fields of computer graphics and visualization, as well as image and sound processing techniques, are both taught and researched at HdM.
