STUDIO SEUFZ

Studio Seufz creates peculiar video games and animated films with a passionate core.

STUDIO SEUFZ was founded in Stuttgart at the beginning of 2017 by graduates of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy. Since then, they have poured their heart and soul into creating animated films and indie games for young adults. They focus especially on emotional, existential content, packaged in an accessible style. The studio started with several popular web games such as „Lucky Tower“ and „Murder“ and successful short films such as „Fields Of Rape“ and „Good Night, Everybuds!“, which were shown at all renowned animated film festivals. The latter was nominated for an Annie Award. Theis latest short film, „Just A Guy“, by director Shoko Hara made it onto the Oscar longlist and is the most successful German short film of the year 2020. The experimental PC game „The Longing“ was successfully released in March 2020 and won the German Computer Game Award in the category Young Talent Award: Best Debut. It has also been awarded the Long Feature Award of the A MAZE Berlin and was nominated for an IGF Award. With the pigeon simulator „VR-Pigeons“, the studio ventured an absurd trip into the realms of virtual reality. In mid-2021, the prototype for the current project “ Lucky Tower Ultimate” was presented at Gamescom, the production of which is scheduled to continue in early 2022. Studio Seufz is also working with Kiana Naghshineh on her next animated film, „Girl. Dog. Cancer. Space.” and with Matisse Gonzalez on the animation feature “Cursed Children”. In addition to its own projects, the studio is constantly working on commissioned works such as the Freddie Mercury music video for „Love Me Like There‘s No Tomorrow“.
