TechTalks Stuttgart

Geeks, nerds, technology enthusiasts and researchers form the growing Tech Talks community where current and upcoming research and development topics are discussed.

Visions, inventions and techniques in visualization and graphics, presented by people who are passionate about them. These are the “TechTalks” – by techies for techies or for anyone interested. Research is no longer confined to the ivory tower of academia and has flooded the production world. A world, however, governed by daily stress in which there is hardly any time to follow or learn about the current technological developments. Our aim is to use the TechTalks to present interesting new developments stemming from the research ivory tower. To do this, we abandon obsolete learning formats, such as long lectures at huge congresses or articles in expensive journals, in favour of an entertaining evening event to bring together Hollywood and science.

TechTalks are an initiative of the Stuttgart Media University, the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and the Animationsinstitute of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, the Animation Media Creators Region Stuttgart and the Film Commission Stuttgart. They take place three times a year, traditionally in the “Gutbrod”.

We want to use the TechTalks to provide information, exchange ideas and, above all, encourage the participants to try these ideas and new tools for themselves. No other industry is more dependent on new technologies and algorithms as animation and VFX. We look forward to future film, television and art productions.
